Wild Animals

The Botetourt County Animal Control Office does not routinely handle calls involving wild animals.  The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries should be contacted regarding these problems; however, you may still call the Sheriff's Office to report these problems or call 857-7704.

Removal of Dead Animals

Property owners are responsible for the removal of dead animals on their property.  The Virginia Department of Transportation will remove animals that are on the highway or on the right of way.

Humane Traps

The Botetourt County Animal Control Division will loan human traps to citizens on a first come first served basis.  Traps are for domestic animals only.  Call 473-8230 for more information.
