Dog Registrations: 

All dogs four months of age or older must be licensed each year, not later than January 31.  Dog licenses, which go on sale in November for the coming year, may be purchased from the Botetourt County Treasurer's Office (473-8254).  A current rabies vaccination certificate must be shown for each dog license requested. 

Stray dogs fed for more than one week are considered your responsibility and will be required to have rabies vaccinations and tags.

To obtain a kennel license you must have a letter from the Animal Control Department approving your kennel.

Cats:

All domestic cats over four months of age must be vaccinated against rabies.
